A Graphic Design student from Cardinal Newman College, Preston, has won the National Design Museum student design competition 2014.

Saif Aslam (Moor Park), entered the competition along with classmates and thousands of other students from around the UK to make the shortlist along with four other nominees. He was invited to an awards ceremony down in London where he was announced as the overall winner.

The competition saw students design an identity and marketing billboard to promote a Design Museum Pop-Up Shop. Saif’s design was praised for being a “professional quality proposal, which communicated a clearly developed response with a strong final concept.”

Head of Digital Photography and Graphics, Cheryl-Ann Glover said: “Saif’s hard work, commitment and overwhelming creative talent have been recognised by the Design Museum and this will have a tremendous impact on his future career within this industry. It is the second year running that students from our Department have won the entire competition. We are just so proud of all of them and their hard work and commitment. Congratulations Saif!”
