Peter Symonds College in Winchester played host to the newly appointed Headteacher at the Falkland Islands Community School, Martin Winward.

Martin was appointed as the new Headteacher only at the beginning of this academic year, so was eager to visit the College and the students from the Falkland Islands who are boarding and studying there. The College provides 78 places for students who wish to board and they can
choose to stay in one of two locations, Falkland Lodge or School House. Ofsted have once again rated the boarding facilities as ‘outstanding’ saying, “Students thoroughly enjoy the residential experience and derive great benefit both educationally and in their personal and social development while being there.”

Peter Symonds College Principal, Stephen Carville said, “This visit was a good opportunity for Mr. Winward to experience first-hand the outstanding boarding provision and excellent facilities that the College offers to all of its students. Since the 1980’s, we have welcomed
students from the Falkland Islands to study at Peter Symonds and we will continue to do so, in order to offer them an exceptional opportunity to experience life and study in the UK.”
