Winstanley College student, Lewis Rowe, has been successful in gaining a prestigious football scholarship at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, USA, starting in August 2016.

This exciting opportunity offers Lewis the chance not only to play football, but also to study for a Major in Exercise Sciences and a Minor in Athletic Coaching.

Lewis, who is 17 and previously attended Haydock High, currently plays centre back for Haydock Football Club and the Greater Manchester County team. He said; ‘I’m so happy to have been offered the scholarship; studying in the US is a dream come true and I’m sure it will open up many opportunities. I would love to become a professional football player in the future.’

Campbellsville’s football team is currently ranked 12th out of 200 teams in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) rankings and they have links to Major League Soccer (MLS) teams.
