Spring is a time for growth and this includes the Maple Group which has expanded to include a new partner college from the London region.

New member, Woodhouse College, is a Beacon college and is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.  It has much in common with all Maple Group colleges particularly in having a strong commitment to promoting excellence in post-16 education.  Woodhouse students consistently achieve an A* - B pass rate at A level which is why the college is placed amongst the highest nationally.

John Rubinstein, Principal at Woodhouse, said:  ‘Woodhouse College is pleased and proud to join the Maple Group. An outstanding sixth form college is a very special place, and the best colleges have leaders who are reflective, self-critical and open to new ideas.

We are looking forward to learning some new ideas from our colleagues in the Maple Group and perhaps sharing one or two things that we do well. At a time of uncertainty and change in post-16 education, it is good to foster close links with strong, confident colleges.’

Simon Jarvis, who chairs the Maple Group, added: ‘Maple Group has been enriched by the addition of Woodhouse.  I’m sure John and his team will enjoy the experience; more significantly we will all learn from the good practice and innovation Woodhouse will share with us during a turbulent period for post-16 education.  In return, Woodhouse can expect to receive the generous flow of resources and supportive advice Maple was established to provide.’
