Cardinal Newman - Pensioners Christmas Party

The end of term saw the annual pensioners Christmas party at Cardinal Newman College. Organised by the Chaplaincy team, with help from some of our students, around 30 pensioners from the local area were invited to College to enjoy an afternoon of festive fun!

The College Big Band played and former Newman Physics teacher, Keith Snape returned to reprise his popular renditions of Christmas favourites on his acoustic guitar in a folk-style.

The group were treated to a buffet lunch, followed by trifle and a glass of sherry, to truly get them into the Christmas spirit! After lunch they enjoyed a game of bingo, a raffle – where everyone was a winner, and there was even a visit from our very own Father Christmas who came to distribute presents to all!

Each person was also treated to a special Christmas hamper which were created by our student helpers and chaplaincy team from items donated by staff and students at the College.

The festivities helped to get us all into the Christmas spirit!
