Maple Group College staff share good practice
June and July saw the first two meetings of Maple Group staff, other than principals.
The Finance Directors met on 25th June, and then the heads of Maths on 3rd July. Both groups looked at national developments as they might affect our colleges, and shared good practice.
The detailed slides from the FD meeting are available on the members’ area of the web site, but more generally the topics covered were the changes in accounting practice for the sector, and an update from Julian Gravatt, of the AOC, on the college funding ‘climate’.
After a ‘show and tell’ session sharing resources and ideas , the Maths meeting looked at the Cambridge Maths Education Project, and discussed issues around Core Maths, Further Maths, and supporting maths for weaker students.
