A level success again

The 11 sixth form colleges in the Maple Group again reported outstanding A level results in 2014.

With this being the first year in which student have been unable to sit modular exams in January, the 2014 results were perhaps awaited with less certainty than usual; college staff had no ‘halfway’ results to help their forecasts. However results on the day were very pleasing.

Nationally there was a tiny fall in the pass rate, but a small increase in the proportion of grades at the top A* level – a trend that was mirrored in most of the Maple colleges. Students at member colleges between them achieved some 35,000 A level passes. Thousands of young people will now go on from our colleges to the next exciting phase of their lives with our blessing, at university or elsewhere.
